Name: Hikari Tower
Race: Mutated Human
Age: 19
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 115 lbs
Physical Description:
Hikari, even before the explosion, was a small girl by most other’s standards. Her frame is slender, her muscles lean, her body fat minimal. In a nutshell, Hikari is healthy and built for speed. Before her mutation Hikari was an aspiring artist and novelist, her creativity was unrivaled. Still is, though her appearance sets her dreams of becoming a famous artist, back. Her hands, once so slim and tapered, are now claw-like; large, elegant eyes now pulled at the ends to look more animalistic than human, her pupils, surrounded by blue iris’s, like those of a cat. Ears, once so small and human are now long and bat-like, poking out of her hair like fleshy horns. Her nose, so small and cute is now flat like a cats’. Blonde curls turned into long, strait silver hair, her lips framed by elongated canines.
Her slender frame remained after the explosion, though her stance was now of someone who believed they were hunted, hated, rather than that of the usual outgoing girl. Her back remains to be un-mutated, though she hunches to hide herself from the world. Hikari has also obtained a new limb through mutation – a long rat-like tail, dexterous and often in the way. Clawed feet end her long legs, bent backwards slightly like those of a cat.
In a nutshell – Hikari is no longer the attractive blond she used to be.
Possessions: Hikari only owns the clothes on her back, her sketchbook and a handful of pencils and erasers. Her clothes include jeans, a white tank top, and a long black trench-coat she loved. She no longer wears shoes or boots as she finds she is unable to fit them on her feet.
Profession: Artist and Novelist
Abilities/Traits:
Abilities:
Speed: Hikari has become incredibly fast due to her mutation. She can move about the same speed as a bullet, though not for extended periods of time.
Reflexes: Hikari has also gained ‘cat-like reflexes’. She is now able to catch things out of mid-air, catch herself from falling, etc.
Heightened senses: Hikari can smell, hear, see, feel and taste better than any human being could ever dream. Feelings are not limited to physical touch – Hikari is also highly sensitive to emotions given off by others… call it a minor form of a psychic ability.
Artist’s Eye: Hikari has always been an artist, but now it has become more advanced. Hikari can now see something and be able to draw it without too much trouble. She can also mentally alter what she sees before her, to what she believes it should, and draw it down. She does, however, prefer to draw free hand (something without reference).
Traits:
Golden Heart: Hikari’s completely and utterly a soft-hearted girl. She’s the type to stop in the middle of a downpour and pick up a lost puppy and take it home to feed it. She would do anything in the world for her friends and family, if she’s had any.
Shy: Hikari is now very quiet and withdrawn due to her mutation, as she believes that no-one could ever accept her for her while ignoring her grotesque appearance.
Weaknesses:
Speed: While Hikari can move fast, she can’t see fast. What I mean to say is, if Hikari isn’t careful she can run headfast into the side of a building at the speed of a bullet – something that would kill her instantly – but she’d never see it coming. If she truly wanted to master her speed she’d have to rely on a 6th sense – something she has yet to develop.
Reflexes: While Hikari has amazing reflexes, she had terrible aim. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT hand her a gun or any other form of projectile. She will likely hit a friend or team-member than the person she was meant to shoot…
Heightened Senses: Her heightened senses are also a weakness in themselves. Having such powerful senses are terrible as they are awesome in the sense that if the smell, sound, etc. is overpowering it causes Hikari physical pain. She can’t handle loud noises such as gunshots or tolling bells, at close range. Powerful scents such as death, blood, garbage, etc. will cause severe nausea. Overpowering emotions become her own – as in she feels what the other person feels. If something incredibly bright is being shone in her eyes it causes intense pain. If something has a strong flavour – again with the nausea.
Artists Eye: If Hikari can see anything she wants in her minds eye, she can obviously see things she’d never want to see. In short, Hikari has a hyper-active imagination with the tendency to come up with worst case scenarios. Combine that with the ability to mentally see whatever your mind comes up with, clearly, you’ve got a basket case on your hands should Hikari become scared.
Background:
Before her mutation, Hikari was like any other teenage artist – fun and full of life despite both her parents being dead due to a robbery. She had grand plans for her future and an even grander imagination, especially after being in foster care for the last 8 years of her life. She would travel from city to city, often hitch-hiking, just to look at the different people and architecture, always finding them and an adventure, just as she wanted.
That’s how she ended up in Clarensford. Hikari was simply visiting, interested in the medical history of the city, when the explosion occurred. At first she believed the new – it was just as gas line explosion. Then she began to change. It was for the first two days – her fingers getting longer, her hair growing rapidly, etc… then on the third night she simply changed all at once. She had been minding her own business when she was struck with agony. Falling to the ground she writhed in agony, unable to scream due to her jaw locking up as it transformed. She ended up passing out from the pain. When she woke she had changed.
Now she wanders the city, unable to leave due to the blockade, looking for any other mutants like her.
Role Play Sample: The streets were barren, all the plants asleep or unaware, as Hikari walked silently, her eyes flickering from side to side, seeking any threat before it fell upon her. She sought only shelter, but that was impossible to find, especially here. All the homes were over-run by zombies or mutant animals, Kari had yet to find another living being, and she was getting desperate.
“Please,” She whispered, “Please, is there anyone else alive here but me?”
